Content Summary: Bill Belknap is interviewed about the first jet boat trip up the Colorado River, which took place in 1960. Jon Hamilton was the lead on this trip. In the interview, Belknap mentions his reluctance to pre-publicize the event. He also speaks about the crew, why he thinks the trip succeeded and his reluctance to use the phrase, "conquered the river". Transcript is a paraphrased copy of actual interview (located in the Martin J. Anderson collection- NAU.MS.77).
